Zorgfuik

Privacy statement

Zorgfuik collects experiences to reveal patterns. Not to sell personal data, forward case files or push people back into a bureaucratic swamp.

🔒 Stories are never forwarded to any organisation. We use experiences to reveal patterns.

What we do

Collect experiences, recognise patterns, handle data with care and inform people when they ask us to.

What we do not do

Sell personal data, forward reports to organisations or take over individual cases.

Privacy in plain language

Share only what is needed to understand how you got stuck. Names of doctors, staff or family members, citizen service numbers (BSN), medical records or copies of ID are not needed.

The commitments

Privacy statement, Zorgfuik

Last updated: 11 June 2026. Below is exactly what we do and do not do with data, in plain language, with no small print.

1. Who is responsible?

Zorgfuik is a citizens' initiative by Rogér Castelijn (IJsselstein, the Netherlands). Until the Zorgfuik Foundation has been incorporated, he is the controller for data processed through this website. Questions about privacy? Email privacy@zorgfuik.nl of bel +31 30 227 34 91.

2. What data do we process?

Visiting the website. Zorgfuik uses no accounts, no advertising, no tracking cookies and builds no visitor profiles. The website is hosted by Cas ICT; the server briefly processes standard technical data (such as IP addresses in log files) needed for security and the proper functioning of the site.

Click-through links. Some buttons and links pass through link.zorgfuik.nl, a service provided by short.io. We use it only to count how often a link is clicked, aggregated numbers, so we can see which topics resonate. We do not link those numbers to individuals. When redirecting, short.io processes technical data (such as IP addresses) in accordance with its own privacy policy.

Sharing your experience. The experience form runs through Tally. We process only what you choose to enter, and we expressly ask you not to share unnecessary personal data: no citizen service numbers, no medical records, no names of care workers or family members. Stories are used exclusively in anonymised or summarised form to reveal patterns.

The petition. Signing takes place through Petities.nl, which is itself the controller for that processing and has its own privacy statement. Your name is not publicly visible on Zorgfuik. When the petition is submitted to its recipient (for instance the Dutch House of Representatives), certain details may be needed to verify that signatures are genuine.

Contact. If you email, call or message us, we use your details only to answer your question.

3. Why, and on what legal basis?

We process data to keep the website running securely and to see, in aggregate, which topics resonate (legitimate interest); because you choose to share an experience with us (consent, which you can withdraw at any time); or to answer your question when you contact us.

4. Who do we share data with?

We never sell data. Experiences are not forwarded to doctors, municipalities, insurers, care providers, Veilig Thuis or any other organisation. We only use processors needed to keep the site working: Cas ICT (hosting), short.io (click-through links) and Tally (the experience form). We share no more with them than is necessary.

5. How long do we keep data?

Technical log files are kept briefly. Shared experiences are kept for as long as needed to reveal patterns, or until you ask for them to be deleted. Contact messages are kept no longer than needed to deal with your question.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict processing and to object. To exercise these rights, email privacy@zorgfuik.nl; we respond as quickly as possible, and within one month at the latest. If you are not satisfied, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

7. Security and changes

The connection to this website is encrypted (https) and we deliberately collect as little as possible. If this statement changes, for instance when the Zorgfuik Foundation takes over, we will update the date above and explain significant changes on the news page.

Want to help?

Sign the petition, share your experience or pass Zorgfuik on. The foundation now being set up is also looking for people to get involved, including board members.

No data grabbing

Trust is not a side issue

We know that many people who recognise the care trap have lost trust before: through poor handovers, unclear case files, desks pointing at each other or organisations that mainly ask for yet more proof. That is why we ask no more than necessary and use stories only to reveal patterns.

Zorgfuik never sells personal data. Stories are not forwarded to the organisations involved. Publication only ever happens anonymised or summarised.
